Hey welcome to the 08 boards.

There are plenty of Dominican salons in Washington Heights. I usually go to a salon in Brooklyn but now have to find someone in Allentown (I'm moving there). The one in Brooklyn does a great job with color, relaxers, and the typical wash and set (with deep conditioner).

Washington Heights is the best place to go in manhattan, 145th and broadway go in either direction for a few blocks.

in LI I go in freeport on merrick road to Isabels.

Wow that's very close to where I get my hair done. I forgot the street (they moved from DeKalb Avenue) but it's between Knickerbocker and Wilson Avenues. If you need the number of the place, FM me if you're thinking going to Brooklyn.

But as everyone said, go to the Heights. You'll find it in every other corner starting from W. 145th. You'll find a lot more around W. 181th.

They know how to treat Dominican hair better. Dominican hair (like my own) have kinks and frizzies. It's a mix between regular hair and African-American hair. Plus they do know how to really do a relaxer (though I don't do that anymore because it's very damaging on my hair, thus doing the Japanese one).

Because I do the Japanese one, I only go there for a quick wash and set with a deep conditioner. My hairdresser only charges me $25.

Anywhere in the Heights that you go you should be ok. There are salons literally in every corner.
