Dominican Republic - Puerta Plata??

Girls, ANY feedback would be much appreciated.... looking into booking this hotel for our honeymoon in February

I've been reading some not-so great things about Puerta Plata but I don't know why .... and honestly, this is the only thing open in the Caribbean for that week right now :-/

i've been to the DR twice, its beautiful, and the link you have to that hotel looks awesome. i know that its like many other places where you really have to stay at the resorts due to safety issues, maybe thats why you were hearing negative things....but who cares, everything you need is at any resort anyway and DR is beautiful and great weather especially that time of year. i say go and get tan and have a great time!!!!!
