Instead of giving the actual favor, they take that $ (that would have been spend towards favors) and donate it to some sort of charity.

and people ususally make/write a little note for the guests to let them know that in lieu of a favor they have made a donation to ______

That is what I am going to give my family next year for the holiday...tmy gifts this year were unappreciated . SO I said next year I am giivng then donation cards cant exchange that ![]()
