Did you base on what a favor would cost and go from there or just picked a dollar amount?

Re: Donation Favor Brides
We picked a $ amount, then subtracted out the costs of the favors we gave at the wedding, and that was our final donation amount.

Re: Donation Favor Brides
We had an idea of what we wanted to spend on favors. We deleted the caramel apples (which will double as placecards) and donated the rest. I think it came out to about $3 per person for the donation.

Re: Donation Favor Brides
yup- we did the same thing. we just thought about what we wanted to spend per person on favors and donated that amount to the charity. we wanted to spend about $2 per person, and we donated to the lance armstrong cancer fund. so... we bought everybody one of those yellow livestrong bracelets ( $1 each, goes to the charity) and then donated an additional dollar per person above that- so basically a total of $2 per person...

We're doing the same thing, but it is being split between to charities. Half is going to the American Cancer Society (both of our families are affected) and the other half is going to the Chron's and Colitis Foundation of America (FH lost a good friend to Chron's earlier this year).

We purchased LiveStrong bracelets from the Lance Armstrong Foundation and bracelets from the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and made a donation that we could afford after that.

How did you determine what you were donating?

This is a good question. I was wondering this myself. I think we are going to give a certain $ amount if we decide to do this.
