Donation Favor Question

Someone please fix this favor card wording for me! I want to explain to guests that Joey, my fh, went to Uganda as a volunteer to build an engine to power a school in Uganda. The organization he went with was Engineers Without Boarders and they are still doing work in Uganda. That is the organization I want to donate money to instead of doing favors. I want to explain this all on our favor card... can someone improve my wording:


Last April, Joey traveled to Uganda to build an engine that would provide power for a school. He went as a volunteer with Engineer's Without Borders. Because this organization is close to our heart, we have decided to donate money to them in lieu of favors. Thank you for helping us help others!
