Instead of giving a favor, I was planning on donating to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer organization in honor of my mother. I will post a message near the placecard table in a frame explaining that in lieu of favors....blah blah. I then want to have a little basket with little pink ribbons next to the frame so that people can take a ribbon if they wish. Do you think this is a good idea? I am not sure if people will understand the ribbon thing!

I think it is a great idea. In my opinion, donation favors are the best way to honor people & also are very meaningful to guests. This is the reason we are doing them.
I think many people will understand the pink ribbon pins. In today's society, we are so unfortunate to have many people affected by breast cancer & the pink ribbons are constantly seen.
