Donation Favors

Donation Favors

Is anyone doing donations for their favors? If so how are you going about it? We are going to make a donation in honor of each person at each table but I am not sure how to present it. Each table will have a different donation place.

I am doing a donation to two charities that are very important to us....Juvenile Diabetes and The ASPCA.

We are going to get a little gift that can go with a professionally printed card that explains what the donation is.....

Two of my friends did this and one donated to the autism foundation...She wrote the card and put it with an autism bracelet for each guest.

The other friend just typed the card but had it rolled into a scroll. I don't think people appreciated this as much. The presentation was lacking and people like to walk away with something....

The card with a small gift to go with it (esp if it's related to it) is a nice touch

In terms of the donation...We're just making a flat donation to each charity...Not really going by per person...Just giving how much we'd like to give to each.

We are donating to the Scoliosis foundation in memory of FH's mom. We are giving each person a large white cookie (a blk & white w/out the blk) which was her favorite cookie. We are attaching a poem as to why this foundation to the cookie.

we are doing a donation to the american diabetes association. they gave us scrolls, but instead of rolling them up, we're attaching them to the lotto scratch off tix we got for each guest. my grandma had diabetes, and was a scratch off junkie, so it was the best way for us to go.

As someone who has worked for a non-profit, it's easier if you make a flat donation in honor of your family and friends instead of in honor of each person at the table. (FYI - when an 'in honor of' gift is made, it is usually customary for the organization to send a letter to the person the gift is in honor of notifying them of the donation.)

Why don't you give a call to the organization(s) you are thinking of donating to and ask them what the easiest way is to make such a donation, the procedures, etc.

we are doing the same thing but as a scroll, basically we're just letting the guests know that in lieu of favors we have made donations to the MS Society in their names and then we're rolling up the paper and tying a ribbon around it. Here is a really useful webpage I found on different ways to word your donation favors

Re: Donation Favors

Thank you so much. Are you putting one at each table or one in front of each seat?

We're doing a donation favor to Out of the Darkness Suicide Foundation in honor of a friend that passed this summer. We bought enough bracelets for each person and put 2 cards on each table to tell everyone what/who the bracelet/donation was for. HTH!
