Donation in ADDITION to favors... what do you think of this?

So, I'm giving out Christmas ornaments as our favor... I'm also having a candy buffet.

I had a light bulb go off in my head this morning on the way to work. My wedding is in November. Every Christmas, I pick an orphanage or center for children with disabilities and collect toys to bring to them for Christmas. I was thinking of making a Christmas toy donation as part of my favor in the name of my guests to the Center for Developmental Disabilities. I would LOVE to do this, just because it's a favorite toy charity of mine. I would probably do this anyway... it would just be a nice way to tie it into my wedding.

Should I print some info on a card and put it in the box with the favor? Something like:

We hope you enjoy hanging this Christmas ornament on your tree year after year!

In addition, Sarah and Joe will be making a donation of Christmas presents this year in the name of their wedding guests to one of their favorite charities, The Center for Developmental Disabilites. Please pray for these special children as you celebrate the holidays this season! Thank you!

I did a similar thing. I wanted to make a donation to charity, but I had some feedback from people that 'people really like to take something home'

So I am wraping the favor and the donation bracelets (with card explanation) in a box.

I think it's a great idea. We're doing a donation as our primary favor and then candles and chocolates as a secondary favor. I think it's great think to do especially considering the time of year.
