Donations

Does anyone know where I can send donations of trial size shampoos, toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash clothes, crayons, coloring books, jump ropes, balls? We were thinking of sending them to a unit in Iraq that requested them, but because of mail restrictions, I think it would be better to send to a domestic charity?

Thanks!

Re: Donations

Why dont you try Little Flower.

Their website is Littleflower.org (they are in Suffolk County).

Also, the toys, if they are infant toys, you can try Birthright.org.
Single moms going through unplanned pregnancies. They can use maternity clothes, baby clothes, and Im pretty sure toys also.

Re: Donations

there is a womans shelter in Wantagh that takes stuff like that. We did that with our Brownie troop last year. They will take baby stuff (diapers, wipes, bibs, pasifiers, bottles) and also adult stuff.

If you want I will get you the number there!

They provide shelter and services for victims of domestic violence.

Re: Donations

If you want to send them to Iraq you can (It gets sent to a domestic unit who has it sent over on military planes going directly there). Here's a website that will help. Dem. Presidential candidate Howard Dean is promoting it through his website, that's how I found it.
