Donations to your Church

What is the recommended donation to your church before your wedding? Greek orthodox church? THanks again.

I'm not sure what the norm is, but I'm pretty sure FH's dad is giving $1000?

But they don't go to the church a lot, so they're not donating on a normal basis... so I think there's some guilt money in there

OH WOW. i was thinking more along the lines of $300-600 however I don't want to be embarassed. I taught sunday school for 11 years though if that counts for anything. LOL

Mine was not Greek Orthodox but we paid I think $600 but that was the 'recommended' amount

Haha, I think that counts for A LOT! As long as you were teaching Sunday School at that church

I think your range is good, I'd go for maybe $500? But I honestly have no idea... I was surprised FFIL was giving that much...

I am getting married at Kings Point and they require $500 for the use of the chapel. I am bringing my priest from nyc so I will also have to make a donation to the church in the city.

my church isn't Greek Orthodox but our suggested donation is about $700 total and that is for church members. It's much more if your not a member so... I def think teaching Sunday school counts for something! it makes you a VERY active member of the church! That deserves a discount lol

Our church told us what our 'donation' is.... Music fee - $225 made out to cash; Rehearsal fee - $25 made out to cash and $500 church fee made out to the church.

Thank you all. At least I see we are all in the same ballpark.
