Done with breastfeeding!

I'm happy and sad... Last night was Caiden's first night not nursing. I gradually decreased all of his feedings until there wasn't any left, so yesterday was a whole day with no nursing. I'm sad because this part of his life is over, and he doesn't need mommy in that way anymore. Of course I'm happy at the same time, it's just hard to let go to this part of our lives. I am proud of myself... I breastfed for a year.... well Caiden's first birthday is a week from now. I originally didn't want to at all, but my DH wanted me to, so I tried it, and I'm so glad I did. I was only planning on the first 6 months, but since things were going great, I just went for the year mark! It is so hard though... no more breastfeeding, almost on all whole milk, big boy shoes, table food, size 18 month clothes, big boy baths, big boy toys... etc., etc., etc., I really miss the little stage. But I'm having sooo much fun with him now. He's like a little boy now. He almost needs a trim on his hair too! It's hard believe he was in my belly! Sorry... I guess I'm letting out a sad/happy vent!

you should be so proud of yourself!! your baby is beautiful, I have a feeling that you will be breastfeeding a new one next year!

Congratulations on a job well done! I am also hoping to continue to BF until my son turns 1 year, too. While it is sad to have this stage over, the next one will lots of fun!!!
