I went a couple of years ago for my sister in law's BD - it was weird but I did have fun. There were tranvestites, but the show wasn't about transvestites. What it was about was sicker (not sure if you want me tell). There was a lot of wildly-dressed dancers and performers. The music was great.
It's a lot of fun. You can dance before the show and afterward. There are women playing men's roles in the play, but it's not a drag show at all. It's a disco riff on Shakespeare, who had a lot of female characters dressing up as men in his plays. The costumes are pretty wild, and it's cool club setting. If you go to broadwaybox.com, you can probably get a discount code for tickets.
