Thought I'd share what's up. Donna and I went to a different florist today, a friend of my niece, who thinks she can give Donna a better price on her Wedding flowers. We learned that calla lilies are very expensive, because they're imported, and stephanotis is expensive, because it takes a lot of time to wire it for bouquets, etc. Donna and Josh's engagement party is today at 4:30. I really don't know what to expect. Originally, Josh's Mom planned to have it outside, but the noreaster is passing through, so the party will go indoors, at the Church, where Donna and Josh plan to marry. Josh's Mom thought it a good opportunity for me to see the Church. I just picked up my veg./dip and fruit/dip trays from Sugar Plums and Tea, where I had Debi's Shower. (Great food)!!!!!! Toodles!!! ooh great news on the flowers....im using stephanotis in my bo-k and had no idea about wiring it in! I'm also using all mini callas for my centerpeices..BUT i got a deal through my florist b/c their a house vendor so that's why i am using them..otherwise it would be too expensive!!!! I hope the e-party goes well..even with the stinky weather...def take lots of pics for us to see!!

What types of flowers did Donna end up going with? I never realized that callas were imported.

That's one of the reasons I loved Burton's. They didn't care what kind of flowers I chose, it was the same price no matter what. Mike said that because some brides prefer daisies and roses while other prefer calla lillies and peonies, it all balances out in the end so he'd rather not nickel and dime people. I thought that was pretty neat...and I was able to get exactly what I wanted!!

Hi everyone!!! Donna and Josh's e-party was nice!! Josh's Mom, because of the rain, moved it into the Church Gym, which was great!! My allergies didn't have to pitch a fit, and it was nice for the three kiddos who were there, to run and play, and decorate pumpkins!! Jayne had a Fall theme. Everyone brought a dish. Great food!! Had choc. cake with pnb frosting; Donna's favorite!! They got a few presents but mostly $. The guests were primarily our families, and Josh's Best Man, and his girlfriend. We saw the beeeeeauuuutiful Church Sanctuary, where Donna and Josh will be married.

Hi guys!!! How are you all doing today? Thanks!!! Donna and her Son, Shaun, are out registering today!! They couldn't register at Target, because the scan guns weren't working. So, they went to Linens N Things. I told Donna to check the status of the bankruptcy thing. I asked about her flower choices, from our floral appt. yesterday; She plans to have bouquets of white roses with a few small wine calla lilies, and stephanotis for the BM, and her bouquet will be wine colored roses with white calla lilies, and stephanotis.That's all she decided so far. Her appt. with her reception venue, The Lancaster Liederkranz, is Sat. Josh cannot attend, so I will be going. Mary MOB
Oh yea, good and bad news re: to our Grandson, Shaun's tiger striped retainer!!!! He had lost it, and Donna had to fork out another $75 for a new zebra striped retainer. Well, today, Donna looked down on the parking lot pavement, at their place, and there was the tiger striped retainer, smushed!!!!!!!
