Or I should say, 'Just be careful what you eat, in Punta Cana, Dominican Rep. Ever since Debi came home from their HM, she's had BN aka bathroom nonsense. She finally went to the Dr. last night and was put on an antibiotic for 'travelers' diarrhea' She remembers eating potato salad, which might have been the culprit.

Linda, I think they absolutely loved Punta Cana, but, there was one trip to a 'deserted island', where they had a picnic, and I think the potato salad!! Also, just so you don't freak out, the bathrooms toilets on that island cannot flush tp, and the tp goes into a bucket of some kind!! Gross, I know!!! But they have a poor man there to unclog the toilets. Can you imagine????!!!!!!!!!!! Mary MOB

Linda, I think they absolutely loved Punta Cana, but, there was one trip to a 'deserted island', where they had a picnic, and I think the potato salad!! Also, just so you don't freak out, the bathrooms toilets on that island cannot flush tp, and the tp goes into a bucket of some kind!! Gross, I know!!! Mary, unfortunately, there are even worse bathroom duties out there for people...Almost 10 years ago, I spent 3 months excavating in a small village in Egypt, about 500 miles from Cairo. We had no running water (nor electricity, except for in the kitchen, latrines and lab), so we had to do all our business in 1 of 2 buckets. A man from the village would come by twice a day to empty out the buckets...now THAT'S an awful job!

Anna, I'm familiar!! After nursing school grad. I went to the jungles ogf Mexico, and we didn't even have a bucket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would love to see your pics from that trip!!!! Mary MOB

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately seems like its very common, i know of alot of people who got sick in DR or Mexico. Have to be careful with the food and water there.

aw yea my friend came back from mexico with a parasite but she was happy because she lost 20 lbs. I don't think I can ever go to mexico my stomach already thinks we are in mexico on a daily basis! I hope debi gets better!

Ugggggh. I went to the dominican republic a few yuears ago and I was sick the whole time. For that reason, I plan on never going back.
