I know for some it's more than a year away, but for others it's less than a year away.....
Don't forget to put your e-ring on the opposite hand the morning of your big day! I saw someone forget to do that and it was embarrasing to her to have to change it up there....although to some, that wouldn't be embarassing. Just a thought...

Re: Don't forget....
Why? I thought the wedding band was supposed to lock the engagement ring in place - confirming the committment made.

It does, that's why you need to move your e-ring to your right hand so that your wedding band can go on your finger first and then your e-ring... your wedding band it supossed to be closest to your heart, that's why it goes on first.

Re: Don't forget....
I think this is really a preference thing. Some people keep it on their left hand, some people wear it on the right hand, some people don't wear their e-ring at all and let someone hold it for them until after the ceremony. I could be mistaken but just from reading this website I've heard all different scenarios

I think this is what i am doing. I am not going to wear my e-ring that day as i want the only thing on my finger to be my wedding band i guess for the traditional effect it might have

Re: Don't forget....
Q. Should I take my engagement ring off for the ceremony or does my fiance put the band on top of my ring?
A. It's up to you. Most people move their engagement ring to their right hand so that the band will not be 'upstaged' and can be placed first on your finger, in its traditional position 'closest to the heart.' You may also want to not wear your engagement ring that day -- stow it somewhere safe! -- especially if you're wearing gloves.
Another:
During The Ceremony Traditionally, the wedding band is worn first on the fourth finger of the left hand, making it closest to the heart. If a bride chooses to wear her engagement ring during the ceremony, however, this can cause a problem. Many brides simply wear the engagement ring on their right hand and move it to their left unobtrusively after the wedding band is placed on their finger. Another option is to continue wearing it on the left hand but to switch the rings to the proper order immediately after the ceremony. In either case, move the rings without drawing undue attention to the act, preferably after the ceremony or on the way to the reception. For soldered bridal sets, this is not a concern because the bride does not have the option of wearing her engagement ring throughout the ceremony.
Many brides prefer the classic elegance of wearing gloves with their wedding gown, but there are several things they need to consider for their engagement rings. Never wear the ring on top of the glove – it could easily fall off when the glove is removed or be too tight to remove without a struggle. If the ring is to be worn under gloves, they should fit loosely through the fingers to avoid snagging on the ring, especially if it has a high, exposed setting. A specialized ring glove is recommended, where the appropriate finger has a functional slit and can easily be manipulated to accommodate rings. After the ceremony, gloves should be removed for the meal and socializing, and to better allow guests to admire the new wedding rings

Re: Don't forget....
I agree It probably is just a preference.
Either way I think i'm going to have someone hold my ring since I don't think i'm supposed to wear precious Jewels for the wedding.

Re: Don't forget....
It can go either way. I guess it is what you prefer. I am putting my engagement ring in front of my wedding band. I like it that way best. I have seen girls where it both ways.

we were shopping for wedding bands the other day and the jeweler told us that the wedding band goes first because it should be worn closest to the heart!!
