Dont know what to do.....

The DJ that we booked was playing at the Riviera tonight. We were allowed to go there and hang out in the office so we could hear him play, since we booked based on good recommendations from LIW, and not because we had heard him DJ before. FH and I got there and Vickie from the Riviera was saying that he was late. The reception started at 7:30 and he arrived at 7:00-7:10- which technically isnt late, but as Vickie said 'its late in our eyes- when the bride is asking if her DJ arrived and he hasnt, its late.' Then, Vickie brought two of the waitresses into the office, and told them that we are booked for next November and asked them what they thought of the DJ. Both of the waitresses were like 'we dont like them already- they were late.' Vickie asked the waitresses to write down their experiences at the end of the night with the DJ and she'll call me tomorrow. Another thing that bothered me is that the main DJ wasnt the owner of the company. When we went and met with the DJ, he never mentioned the possibility of him not doing it- he never even mentioned that he had other DJs. All of this is making me think I did the wrong thing! Help!

I would wait to hear about what the waitress's thought at the end of the night and if you are not happy then I would call/email the DJ and express your concerns. I think 7:10 is pushing it for a 730 wedding.

I think that's kind of odd that they would tell the waitresses to write down their opinions of the DJ - just seems weird to me - for all you know they are doing this so they can push a house DJ on you. I think you're better off looking for reviews of the DJ on this board or asking other brides who have used them.

What happened? Did the waitresses report back with more negatives? did the DJ show up before 7:30? zomg I can't imagine if the DJ was not there when the guests arrived!!!!
