I have pretty much no fashion sense at all when it comes to throwing colors together and making them work. lol. And I need help! After growing up in a Private School where uniforms were a must, and then working as a pre-school teacher where I'm lucky if I don't leave there with some mysterious stain left behind, I am clueless. College was my only chance (and i think I did well) but now I'm stuck
White dress... I got one. It's very pretty, not TOO dressy but still elegant, goes to my knees pretty much. No other color on it, just pure white (not ivory or cream). What are my options with shoes? I'm assuming heels, but what are my color options? Ya think only white is acceptable? Or is black shoes okay? Mind you, there is NO black in this dress whatsoever. Total White. What do I do? Are white shoes my only option??
Thanks. I'm such a mess

What accessories are you planning on using?
Off the top of my head I would suggest silver shoes and silver accessories. Post a pic of the dress style if you can.

crashing.. I really like a tan color with white. It's not too dark but it adds a little something.

I love metallic shoes too. But you are the bride and you can wear any color of shoes that you want. Many brides on here wore non-white shoes for their weddings

white dress can go with SOOO many things. I would do a bright color and make it pop. You dont want to wear a white dress white a shoe that is similar or close in color, will look a bit bridal lol, this isnt wedding dress right?
I say hot pink, blue, emerald green, red they all would look nice.
Here is a pic of a bridal dress with hot pink shoes but just to give you an idea how the pop of color can really give it a different look

thanks for the advice on this. I'll try posting a picture of the dress so you can get an idea.
No, it's not really a 'wedding dress', but I guess kind of. Ya see, I'm having 2 wedding receptions. The real one is here in NY, but then a few weeks later we're having another one in Colorado with FH's family. This second one is very low key so I'm definitely not wearing my wedding gown to it, but I still thought it would be nice to wear white (since i AM still the bride). So I like this dress i have because it's simple, but pretty. So maybe since I kind of AM the bride still, i should just stick with all white? (shoes I mean). Hmm.
But I do like the idea of putting on a bright color to make it pop. Sounds REALLY nice! I'll have to think about it some more.
Thanks so much for your advice. I had no idea.

So if I DO decide to step away from the 'bridal' aspect and wear like a nice red shoe, should that mean that I then wear Red accessories? Like a red necklace and/or bracelet? Or is just the red shoe & white dress (with regular diamond accessories) okay?
i'm so lost

well dont go by me, even for my own wedding i didnt wear white shoes and do the whole white thing. I wore blue shoes for my wedding day so even as the bride still didnt do white shoes, so i definitely dont think you HAVE to do white shoes just bc you are the bride. If you want to of course do what you like best.
i read what you said in the other post and NO you dont have to do red accessories if youare wearing red shoes. I didnt do that, i wore blue shoes but had crystal earrings and bracelet, didnt use any blue accessories
