dont see each other much

dont see each other much

well as it is me and the soon to be hubby dont get to see each other much even thou we live together .. .i work from 9-5 pm and he works from 1pm to 9:30p.m monday to friday.. i work on saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2pm and he works doing his landscaping business all sorts of hours on the weekend... well the soon to be hubby just joined our local fire department and i guess im going to see him even less... he just got sworn in on monday and last night he didnt get home till 2 a.m this morning.. he went straight there after work.. the pager they gave him was not working , they made him wait about an hour before getting him a new one.. then they started to show him the fire trucks, then they got a fire call at 12:30 a.m (his first one... wish i could have been there to take a pic) they finished with that about 1:00 a.m, then they just bs'd until 2 a.m. ... so when i stopped by his job today to bring him some dinner i was being sarcastic and said so i guess i ll see u tomorrow at 2 a.m again... his response was im not sure... ....he said he is one of the probe's so he's gotta go and play nice with the other men who have been there for years.. so basically he was there last night, he is going tonight, probably tomorrow, friday he's going out with friends, then comes the weekend.....

and to think he just got sworn in... my friends fiance is in the same firedepartment and she warned me that this would happen... and it *****.. its like we will never get to see each other.. i told him yea he is a probe but it doesnt mean he has to be there all the time on his spare time... so far he is the only probe out of the 4 that got sworn in that has come back to the fire house since they were sworn in...

I know it must be difficult to not have him around but you're just gonna have to try your best to make the most of what time you do have together. I speak from experience. My fiance and I have had a long distance relationship for about five years now. He is currently in michigan and i only get to see him once a month. Although it has been difficult for us, I feel that we have a much greater appreciation for our time together than other couples we know. So for now try to adjust to his new schedule and you may be surprised that it may actually bring you closer together.

Alma, I'm in the same boat - FH lives in Maryland and has for the 5.5 yrs we've been together.... it does stink, but it works... and once he finds his groove things will get more into a schedule i think ... good luck!
