So our minimum is 200, and we invited 249. We tried to actually keep the guest list down because the room we have gets a little tight after 220.
Well, so far we have 141 accepted, 43 declined and 65 outstanding. There's no way we're going to make it, and at this point, I think we might be WAY below.
Did anyone have luck getting their RH to throw in extras for free if they were well below their minimum?

Re: Don't think I'm going to make my minimum...
I'm a JT bride and I met with Anna last week for my semi-final appt. I told her I was about 15 below my minimum and she said since i'm missing so many that i could talk to my maitre'd about 'working something out' with the extras. I think if you're like 2 or 3 off then they won't do anything, but my difference is about $1500 worth of stuff so hopefully they stay true to their word and help me out. Mention that you are not going to meet your minimum when you have your semi-final appt and see what they say...

Re: Don't think I'm going to make my minimum...
We came up about 25-35 people short for our minimum. I just contacted the banquet manager and explained that 'of course, I understood that I have a contractual obligation to pay for 125 people even if only 100 show up, but I was hoping that you might be able to add in some extra items since I'm paying for meals that won't be eaten.' In the end, what he did was add on extras to my CH - the pricier passed hors d'oeurves were added on and he added a raw bar to my vodka/caviar station. You could try negotiating for upgrades to your dinner menu (I didn't try this because I really loved everything we'd picked the first time ) or dessert (I'd already paid an arm and a leg for a fancy cake by a well-known baker so I didn't want a VH to detract from that).
Hope this helps (and thanks again for the Barbados advice!)

Since you kept the list down, why don't you invite those 'B List' people to make your minimum? You still have time to get invitations out.

Seriously considering it...
We don't have a B list, so there's no way we can invite more people unless I start asking randoms on the street

Re: Don't think I'm going to make my minimum...
that's where bridentology comes in handy
i told FMIL that i am concerned about our minimum...i don't think she and FFIL have realized that we have one that we have to meet and that we are seriously far from it!!!! nor do i think they realize they gotta pay for all 165 even if there isn't 165!!

Re: Don't think I'm going to make my minimum...
Maybe someone in the bridal party or someone close to those 'outstandings' could contact them and tell them to get a move on!! My god-mother just got me all worried about making our guarantee of 175 since it's a holiday weekend!! eeek!! Good Luck!!!

I am not going to make my minimum either, so I told my brother and sister to invite some of their friends. FI is going to tell his brothers the same thing.
