So in addition to all these wedding expenses, FH and I are now buying a house. Which is great but the reality is we really don't think we're gonna have enough money to go on a HM. I know I should be happy that we're getting a house here on LI but I'm so bummed at the thought of not having a HM. I've been planning the wedding for over a year, almost two by the time we get married. I'd really like to have a HM! Do you think it's possible to go anywhere for a honeymoon for around $1500? Maybe even less?
Any help or ideas are welcome!!!!

That is amazing that you're buying a house on LI! Congrats on that!!
If you wait till the beg of '07 you'll have more options, since sept is hurricane season in FL and the caribbean.

Jess, I can't believe you just mentioned Napa, that's exactly one of the places I'm looking into as I type this!

FH and I are going to Newport, RI for a weekend getaway after the wedding b/c I can't get out of work. Our rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are less than $160/night, then we're doing the cliff walk along the cottages and that's under $50, so we'll get away spending less than $500 for the 3 days were away.

What about out east for a few nights? Montauk/Hamptons area? Or Rhode Island, Conn., Hilton Head SC there are so many places.

If you have AAA, try looking at their website they offer pretty good ideas for their members and its very inexpensive. They have group deals (air fare, rental car). Also try AOL travel. I know this sounds so corny, but try student advantage (yes its taking advantage) but they have great offers on traveling. Who says you have to be a certain age to be a student. LOL.
Just because you are on a budget doesnt mean you cant have a wonderful HM. Plus its not the place that makes the HM, its your company! Im sure you'll enjoy your company anywhere your HM is.
