I think if you are paying for it and you give enough notice in advance, you should be able to do it anywhere you like (within reason of course).

some photographers have rules about where engagement shoots can be taken...check the contract and/or with the photographer.
Engagement shoots usually last about 2 hours total, so if the photographer has to drive 2 hours to get to the site, and then 2 hours to drive back, it might be asking a lot, but you never know.

It never hurts to ask! Tell them the truth about how much that spot means to you. Maybe offer to pay for gas? You never know! Good luck!![]()
