Double purchases on registry

People have bought more than the number that was requested on my registry. Is this normal?? I registered for 1 chip and dip thing and 3 were purchased. What is that?? I registered to 1 tissue holder for the bathroom and 2 were bought. I don't understand. hahah
Also, is it hard to return things or exchange them if there's no receipt?? I'm thinking that people wont have a gift receipt because they know I want it.

Ditto pp. It's doubtful that those people saw that it was purchased and bought it again.

The return policy depends on where you are registered. BB&B has a fantastic return policy and you don't need a gift receipt as long as it's on your registry. It varies by place, though.

OMG they are SOO easy to return to!!

DH and I got a bunch of double gifts and we went back with 2 shopping carts full of stuff that we got but had changed our minds about... they just give you cash back for everything!

AND, Even if someone buys you something that's not on your registry-- for example someone buys you your coffee maker that you did register for, and then buys you 8 mugs that weren't on your regisrty, when they make the purchase the mugs are automatically added to your registry so you get cash back for those too!!

We also had a coffee maker that wasnt on our registry and came with no receipt, BBB gave us store credit for the full price for that too!

They make it completely worry free, just be prepared to Ooh and Aah at the same gift 3 times at your shower which can be akward...lol!
