Please give me all your impressions and thoughts. I saw it today and am definitely considering....
I am having a very small intimate wedding, about 30 people in Sept 2012. I would have the ceremony outside as well as the cocktail hour and then in for the reception.

Douglaston Manor is very unique and beautiful. I was considering having our reception there. I never made it in person, but I watched several wedding videos from people who were married there. It has a 'villa' type of look and I love the fireplace in the main ballroom with the high ceilings.
I don't know if they will give you the large ballroom for only 30 people. You'd have to visit to see the room options. Usually they have a pp minimum for larger rooms.
You might want to consider the Snapper Inn, it's located on the river in Oakdale.

Re: Douglaston Manor
I got married there last month. They were great - no complaints. We had an awesome wedding. We had our ceremony outside on the patio in the evening. It was really beautiful. Our banquet manager was great to work with throughout the whole procedure. On the day of, my bridal attendant was wonderful and very attentive. She followed me and my husband around all night, making sure we had drinks and fixing my train for pictures. We got a lot of compliments from the guests about how beautiful the place is and how good the food was that night. Hope this helps.

We considered Douglaston Manor as well, it has a very nice feel to it and the BM Thomas was very nice when he showed us around. The rooms are gorgeous and not your typical RH. You have a nice background to take pictures as well. The only reason why we didn't pick Douglaston Manor was because of some minor things. Hope this helps a bit.
