Downloaded Fonts -- now how do I use them?

I downloaded some fonts in my DIY attempt. They came as compressed zip filed and I extracted them. But now, how do I use them?! I thought they'd just appear in MS Word, but they didn't. Can anyone help?

Once you download them, you need to extract the files and place the .ttf file in your fonts folder.
To find the fonts folder follow the path below.

C:/Windows/Fonts

Just place the .ttf font file you extracted in the Fonts folder and you should be all set.

If you're using windows, this is how I would do it:

Unzip the fonts and extract them to a location where you can find them
Go to control panel
Click on the Font folder
In the font folder, go to File>Install New Font...
Submit the path of the unzipped font
