Dr. Brown's bottles

Dr. Brown's bottles

I recently switched from Avent bottles to Dr. Brown's due to the fact that my son drank his bottles too fast and was getting a lot of gas because of it. I heard Dr. Brown bottles were supposed to help with gas. Since I've switched though, my son has been more cranky than normal. I've only been using them a few days.

Has anyone tried switching from Avent bottle to Dr. Brown's and have this happen?

I did that switch and honestly, I cant say it make an obvious improvement but it use to drive me nuts to hear the bubbles when he drank from the Avent. Sometimes gas is gas is gas, I mean some little digestive systems are more sensitive than others. Is he formula fed or breast fed?

ETA: How old is he?

My son is bottle-fed...He is also a chunka
He is 4 months old and 17lbs already. Could he just be used to the Advent bottles and just needs time to get used to DR Brown's...I only used them last night and today

I ose the platex nautral flow and Jillin loves them and they give her very little gas

I have been using them from the start. The only problem I found was the flow came out too fast. I use the playtex nipples w/ them. They're clear blue, level one. I find them to be much better.

He is feed formula thru a bottle? Bottle feed doesn't = formula all the time.

I would discuss a change in formula over the type of bottle. Also are you sure you have the slow flow nipples on the bottle? Molly is breastmilk feed but with a bottle. She has used Playtex nurses and never had any real gas issues.

My son uses the Dr. Brown's bottles (he is BF so he only gets breast milk in the bottle). He doesn't really have gas issues with them, he does well. It may be the formula.
