Dr. Brown's bottles/ when did you switch to next stage nipple?

My son is 6 weeks old and we use Dr. Brown's bottles. When did you go to the next level nipple? I think 6 weeks is too soon to switch but sometimes it seems Matthew is struggling or falls asleep too quickly. When did you switch nipples? Thanks.

I use Dr. Browns and didnt switch nipples until she was about 6 months. She was doing so well that I never thought to switch until my babysitter told me that it was time.
