Can you ladies help me? We have been TTC for awhile and I decided to bite the bullet and call the dr this morning. Well I have an appointment for a consultation and I want to be prepared- can anyone who has been thru this please FM me with advice, suggestions on where I can read up on what to expect, anything?
I am not intending to keep my identity a secret or to turn this into a guessing game but I did not want my initial post to have my name since I know I have friends who visit the boards and I have not yet told them ( and am not sure I will tell them about the dr visit) and I have already FM'd some of you since I know you have gone thru this already.
Any advice would be great-- I am not sure how I feel but I do know that my emotions are all over the place.
ETA- I am going in because we have been trying for some time now and are not pregnant- I had already been in last year for the preconception appoint--have been on prenatals, etc-- so this is a consult to figure out what the next step is.

Re: Dr Question- First Visit
Do you think you are currently pregnant or are you just going in to talk about TTC with your doctor? If you think you already are your doctor will probably do a blood test to find out for sure. But either way I would think that your doctor will start you on prenatal vitamins and go over any questions that you have.
Best of luck to you.

Re: Dr Question- First Visit
I don't have much advice to you except to let you know I have been going through the same thing as well. We've been 'trying' or almost a year now, and I have gone to the doctor to see what the story is.
I will tell you I went in prepared though. I charted my temps and knew I never had a rise to indicate I ovulated (plus not getting AF was a big indication something was up). I had some bloodwork done, and when the results came back perfectly normal. I took Provera to induce AF. We thought this would get me back on track, but so far no luck. My next step is to start Clomid.
Go in with as much information as you have. Your doctor can only help you with the informaiton you present. What ever happens, baby dust to you!!
