On getting an officiant. I did not expect a 15-20 minute ceremony to cost over $500. Not really sure where else i should look...

Ridiculous, right? Try the town clerk. We were lucky to have a friend of the family, who is also a chief justice on the supreme court of suffolk county, agree to do our wedding...
most of the officiants gave me the creeps!

Where are you getting married? I am able to use a town clerk officiant. They can't charge more than $75.00.

It may work for you. I'm getting married in Islip. I called the town of Islip, asked for the clerks office and asked them to send me a list of marriage officiants. I have an updated copy in my email. FM me your email address and I can send it to you.
