Okay so here's the problem.. my FSIL is my Matron of Honor.. she's going through a divorce and her ex is someone my fiance grew up with. FSIL says if he is invited than she's not coming at all.. my fiance says there's no way we are uninviting him because he's been family for over 20 years.
What would you do???

I agree.
I had to tell a few of my BP members to stop being so selfish b/c their issues were literally making me sick! People need to understand its not about them, it's about you and FH!

I think your FH and your FSIL need to sit down and talk about this and he needs to explain why he wants them to both be there.

#3 but I would try and be a mediator b/w FH and his sister....seems like it's more of their issue.
How many guests are going to be at your wedding..if you sit them far enough apart they can have limited interaction...

He's not in the family anymore. Your FSIL always will be. If I'm understanding this correctly, your FH is choosing his friend over his sister. That's totally going to bite you in the a$$ later.

Re: Drama w/POLL
looks like i'm the minority...
if she was important enough to you to make her your MOH...how she feels on your wedding day should be just as important.
personally, i'd rather have my MOH smiling a REAL smile in my pics than have a 'where is that jerk-off?' look....

I agree--he needs to explain that her ex is important to him too, and I would also do whatever you can to keep them apart (seat far away, etc.)

Re: Drama w/POLL
I understand it may be uncomfortable for her, but she needs to try to understand and respect you and your FH's feelings. Maybe your FH can have a talk with the ex and ask him to try and avoid her to keep peace...and same for her. They need to try to put aside their feelings for the day. Good luck!

Re: Drama w/POLL
I would try and talk it out with FSIL. I agree she is being unreasonable and selfish i this matter and i would express how you feel about this .
that being said, if she still feels the same way afterwards, I would uninvite the ex. blood is thicker then water ( as my grandma would say ) , family is family

Re: Drama w/POLL
yea definitely went with 3 on this one...
you need to talk to her- tell her he has to be invited- it would be rude not to invite him, but they dont need to sit near one another or talk. Tell her she needs to be a little understanding here!

Re: Drama w/POLL
well I am in the minority. I think FH & FSIL need to talk. He needs to understand what she is going through. He may not have the whole picture & has to work it out with her.
For my sanity I had DH handle his side of the list so i can claim immunity if any fallout happened. (luckily there was none)

Re: Drama w/POLL
I'd have a sit down with FH about it. He has no right to make you invite your MOH's ex, even if he is a close friend.
