drank my sugar soda.....

Now we'll see what the results are on my GD screening. I guess on Monday. HEY - I didn't like that sugar soda ONE BIT!!!! Baby went bonkers in there though! It was like fireworks and then I think she passed out from sugar exhaustion.

All else was well at my 7 month appointment. She said she thinks the baby's head is down - not that it means much now - but it's good to know. And to expect to get much larger! Ayyiiiyaaiiia!!

How much bigger can a belly get?!?!?!?!!?

My baby has never had his/her head down so be grateful. At least yours knows which way to go

Did you drink the orange or the lemon/lime? I didn't mind the drink...I just didn't like the results.

it was lemon lime. I have not had any soda at all since I got pregnant so I think the combination of the sugary and the fizz just made me sick. It tasted just like 7up actually.

Hopefully the results will be okay - i am eating lots of tootsie rolls now just in case.....

I drank the orange sugar soda and kind of liked it... the nurse thought that I was strange that I was sipping it... but it wasn't bad. Maybe I was just really thirsty... who knows...

Little Madeleine went crazy when I drank that stuff too...

just out of curiousity, what's the purpose of the drink....you need to consume a lot of sugar before taking this test? Candy doesn't work?! LOL
Does everyone have to go through it when PG?

I guess they use the soda (it's not really soda, because it's flat YECH!) because it is a set amount of glucose. They are checking to see if your body can mount an appropriate insulin response to use up all that glucose. When you have GD your body makes the insulin but your cells can't take up the glucose/insulin combo - they think the placenta may make some hormone that makes some PG women insensitive to the insulin.

I didn''t mind the Orange soda drink at all..I think because I like Orange soda normally plus sweet is never an issue for me..now if it was spicy I could never drink it.
