Ok. So, the deal is, I don't really like flowers. I don't see the point in paying a small fortune for something that is just going to die anyway. But, I don't think I want silks either because most silks i've seen look like cr@p. This is my problem with going to see the florist. They going to know it in my tone of voice that I really don't care about flowers. Another issue I have is that my wedding is in January and there aren't alot of flowers that are in season that are 'pretty'. So, although I don't particularly like flowers, I don't want ugly flowers. LOL. How do I portray my situation to my florist without sounding like a b!tch or an idiot?

Burgundy, Black and White. I really wanted to keep it simple. I wanted to do the Hurricane Lamp but I was at a loss as to what to put around it. That's prolly a good idea.

It's their job, I'm sure the florist will have ideas that meet your wants/need. Good luck!

If I were you, I'd keep the costs down by going to after Christmas Sales to pick up hurricane lamps, wreaths, and garland and work your magic with it. Those DIY's would look gorgeous.

What if you did all candle CPs, you can buy the stuff yourself to keep costs down. I bought all my glassware and the florist is putting it together for me, I am using some flowers as well. Look online to see what flowers are in bloom in January so you know more about what you are talking about and have some pics of what you want, thats a head start. If you need some reasonable I can FM you a florist. HTH
