How far before your weddign would you recommend ordering your gown?

safely, around 9 months. but it only took 3 months for my dress to come in. check with the designer or salon.

I ordered mine 11/2006 for a September 07 wedding... I would say the sooner the better if you found 'the one' for your dress..,

I ordered mine on April 8th, it came into the shop on 9/15, and I just had my first fitting this past Thursday for my December 8th wedding. But I don't live on LI any longer so my timeline is likely different than most.

It depends on the designer b/c they told me Maggie Sottero, who makes my dress, can take up to 9 months to come in. Even though I'm sure they come in sooner.

I waited until the 1 year mark and it took me about 2 weeks and 5 dress shops to find my dress and I ordered it as soon as I found it. So I would say start looking (if you haven't already)within the next month and order it, just to be on the safe side!
