What do you ladies think is the longest I can wait until I buy a dress? 6 months before the wedding? How long do dresses usually take to come in?

Re: Dress
I think it depends on the designer and where you are going. I would call around to places because you don't Wang to fall in love with a dress and find out that you can't try it be use you don't have enough time or that you have to pay a rush fee.n why do you Wang to wait as long as possible to get a dress?

Re: Dress
It can vary... most stores will tell you it can take 6-8 months to come in. I know some girls ordered early because they thoguht it would take awhile and it took only weeks. I ordered my dress in June and its still not in yet.
There is always the possibility of buying something right off the rack, and I believe Davids Bridal has dresses that you can order in a short amount of time.
However, it looks like you have some time, I would get a feel for what you would like to wear and order between 8-12 months out. 6 months may be cutting it close.

Re: Dress
I have been hearing that 6 months is good. There are some places who can rush the dress if you are under that , but if you have the time, why pay more for it??
Also, some of the bridal salons wait to order the dresses when you place the order, so it may take less time.

Re: Dress
It varies depending on designer and even the type of hem, a dress with a hollow hem can take 8 months.
