dress advice needed please

i went for my first official dress fitting this weekend. i'm going back on october 21st for second fitting and then going for final fitting/picking it up the thursday before my wedding - two days before my wedding. i scheduled it so close to our wedding date b/c: 1) i'm not from long island and i won't have time to be running back and forth, 2) i don't have anywhere to put the dress once i pick it up (i don't have space and neither do my friends and family members).

so, i'm torn. part of me is worried b/c it's so close to the wedding and god forbid something be wrong. and part of me wants to push it back till friday so i can pick it up, bring it to my hotel room and get it out of the bag (i don't even know if it needs to be taken out, i just assumed it did so it doesn't get wrinkled). i mean, with picking it up on thursday i'm going to have to leave it in the car overnight or hanging in the bag shoved in a closet.

what do you girls think? what would you do?

I picked my dress up on a Thursday and then got married on a Saturday, 2 days is fine. There's no reason for you to pick it up any earlier, this way the salon can keep it nice for you.

Why would you have to leave it in the car on Thursday or stick it in a closet?? I understand you not wanting FH to see it, but there has to be somewhere you can hang it before you go to your hotel.

yeah, one would think i would have someplace to hang it. unfortunately.... my fh and i are staying at my sister's on thursday and she & her dh live in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment. my mom lives in a tiny 1 bedroom cottage and she's going to have some of our international family staying with her. my best friend has 2 roommate (one of whom smokes) and a cat - can you imagine, shredded smoke filled dress. anyhow, those are my only options on long island.
