Dress Alteration Question.. I'm stressing

I know none of us are seamstresses but do you think if I have a really detailed dress and it's like 2-3 sizes too big, the seamstress can take it in and make it look perfect? Do you think I'll lose beading on the dress?

Below is a pic of my dress and it's huge on me. I didn't want to order a bigger dress but the store made me. Since April I lost 20-30 lbs of pregnancy weight and I keep losing. My wedding is in 2 mths so I'm a little stressed about this. I wasn't planning on wearing a bra but now they are making me because the cups are so big. Also the dress has detail around the bust area. Do you think the seamstress will be able to make to make the detail smaller so I don't look extra huge in that area?

I don't really know but imagine that it will be able to look good - I don't think there is anyway they can make it look perfect but I can't imagine anyone will be able to tell. . .I would just call the seamstress ASAP and ask her. .. from the pic tho the bust area looks like it would be the easiest to correct b/c it is detail but not as patterened, i think the waist would be trickiest but some seamstresses are amazing so who knows??? good luck. . and congrats on losing the baby weight! and you wlll look amazing no matter what

A good seamstress will be able to make it fit like a glove and keep all of its beautiful details. Just trust in what they say, I am sure they have experienced these issues before. I love your gown btw

Did they measure you height before ordering if they have to hem you may lose all the bead work on the bottom -
My dress was ordering to my height measurements so it does not have to lose the detail -

If she is a good seamstress- she will know what to do. However depending of where she take the dress in (most likely in the sideseams) you will lose some of the side detail, but I dont think it would be anything anyone else would know, except for you.

Thanks Ladies...My length is perfect but everything else is just way too big. At first the seamstress didn't want to take in the sides cuz of the detail but now I'm meeting with the owner who is also a seamstress and they tell me she will do whatever needs to be done. Crossing my fingers or else I'll be buying a new dress off the rack.

I really don't know how if they can fix the dress.. But the dress is beautiful...

Don't stress it, find a good alterator and everything will be good.
