Re: Dress alterations

Are you near the village? There's a woman who did signficant alterations on my neice's prom dress, and they thought she was great. I'm not sure of her name, but she has a sign in front of her house which is right on the park (Heckscher) on Madison Street. There are lots of rose bushes in the yard. If you drive down Madison you'll definitely see it.

Re: Dress alterations

I am using a place in Setauket, I think it's called Ingrids-it's on the corner of 25A & Bennets road. I'll try to find the # if you're interested.

Re: Dress alterations

I also bought my dress at Davids, but had heard horror stories re: alterations. I had asked a few weeks back on here for someone to do alterations, and I'm sorry.. I do not remember who recommended her, but there is a seamstress in Ronkonkoma that has been working out of a bridal salon for 17 yrs and does out of her house as well. Her name is Marina and her # is 631-580-5993. I went yesterday just so she could see the dress and get an idea of what I wanted. I am one of those anti-train brides, and she is going to cut mine off for me, plus the other alterations, etc. She seems really great and knows what she is talking about. And again, she had been recommended on here, so I am confident in my choice. Check her out .
