Dress Alterations

Dress Alterations

When I don't have much to do, it just makes me think even more - which is not a good thing

Question for you gals -

When I got my dress, the size I tried on was a 10. It fit really snug (she was able to close it, but I couldn't breathe too much and it was too small on the chest - way too much cleavage). So, she measured me, and based on that ordered a size 12 (also assuming that the top would then be able to better fit).

FH and I are planning on joining the gym again in the upcoming week, and I'm hoping to lose upto 10 pds before the wedding.

So here's my concern - now that the dress is a size 12 (which will be a tiny bit loose on me I'm guessing but probably fit good), once I lose let's say 10 pds, will it be a pain in the butt to alter? Or should I not worry about this, and this is a normal amount of alteration?

i wouldn't worry about it .... the alterations people know what they're doing, regardless of how much you lose

I've heard that its not difficult to bring a dress down 2 sizes. But I'd also have to assume that it depends on the type of dress. 10 lbs shouldn't be a huge issue to alter though! Good luck

def not a problem!! My dress was a size 12 that was ordered and the model fit well but a bit snug at 10...now they are doing alterations with the size 12 and it's fitting perfectly...the seamstresses really know what they are doing...not to worry!

Most dresses can be brought down sizes with no problems.. I don't think 2 sizes will be a problem at all!

Thanks for posting this - good to hear someone else is getting the same sizes altered

Now I just need to wait until March for my dress to come in - feels like forever!

you def shouldn't have problems. they say they can take a dress in up to 3 sizes normally... 2 definitely shouldn't be a problem!!!
