Re: Dress and bra help
It sounds like a bra issue to me. Have you tried wearing a long line or corset style bra? I'm 38DD and they really give me a boost. With the right bra everything will be in the right place and you won't get that little puff of fat (I know what you're talking about!)
Also, a good seamstress should be able to give you the coverage you need in the gown

Re: Dress and bra help
Personally, I plan to get cups sewn into my dress and not have to worry about a bra period.
Before I lost my weight, I was a 34D and had cups sewn into several formal gowns. Best decision I ever made. They held well and I didn't have to worry about pulling up a strapless bra all night.
Now I'm a 34C, but I still plan to do the same. I haven't even started looking at dresses yet, but I'll probably going to get a strapless and definitely will have cups sewn in.

I suggest going to Blums in Patchogue and getting measured. I thought I was a 34 D but wound up being a 32 DD. They also have some great corset bras there.

I would agree I am also a 32d and am having cups sewn in because my dress with the bra was flattening my d's as well. However I wear strapless tops all the time and don't have a problem. 32d is really hard to find and believe it or not victoria secret does not give the support that my Natori bras give me. You should try using those trust me you will feel better about wearing strapless after. It's not a common name but you can find them at Nordstrom or Saks
