Dress Anxiety?

Dress Anxiety?

I picked out my dress pretty early. I didn't mean to, but just went to look one day last Fall to get an idea. I wasn't sure what style I wanted, and a bridal salon attendant was super sweet to me, spent lots of time, and found me a beautiful one that was appropriate for the time of year and everything. She clipped it around me so that it fit me like a glove and put a beautiful headpiece and veil on me so that it looked like a finished product....she was so kind, and they were having a sale...so I put down my deposit. I've since gone back to officially order it and show the dress to my BMs who weren't there originally(only FMIL was there). However, when going back, the way the second person clipped it..the lines of the dress were laying in a way that wasn't really flattering...so I guess I just have to trust that when it's altered, it'll be perfect. I wouldn't have picked out the dress seeing it in a magazine OR on the hanger....it was the way the first bridal attendant took care of me and clipped it, etc. (It was several sizes too big, and sometimes I wonder if it'll actually look as flattering altered in my size as it did clipped in the bigger size...)

Additionally, that first woman who took care of me was amazing. Yesterday, however, I called this salon, because I had a BM staying with me for the weekend from the city. I called to check a few things...#1- I had put down 50% of the cost a few months ago, at which point they were supposed to order my gown. I had not gotten any sort of confirmation from them about the status of the gown. The person who took my call was clueless. She changed her story about when my dress would or wouldn't be there. I also told her that I wanted to check to see if they had a BM dress I was interested in for one of my girls to try on. I told her that two of them tried it in November, but this girl wanted to see it. She said if they had it then, they'd have it now.

So yesterday (when I called), my friend and I drive out the 45 minutes to get there (when we could've found someplace closer, but I figured I'd show her my gown/etc.) and Lady #2 tells me that their sample disappeared...(?) ...she said someone needed to use it for the fabric for something the day before...I'm pretty sure she was the woman I spoke to on the phone. After that, she was talking to us about size discrepancies with the BM dresses (which I had been nervous about) and seemed to be making my friend a bit nervous. Friend #1, btw, is a tall girl who recently lost 80+ pounds and looks fabulous. Lady #2, decided to joke about size 18 and 20 girls who get excited if their dresses are actually too big, in order, perhaps to lighten the mood? Needless to say, I was shocked and speechless...and my friend was extremely upset as she was recently one of those size 18's.

First time I saw Friend #1 in a while...now that the school year's over...figured we'd have a fun wedding planning weekend...

not a fun day at all.

Anyone have any similar experiences?
