Dress Code in Church for BM's?

Hey Girls,

I never heard about this before and was just curious. FSIL mentioned to me when she was a brides maid her dress was spaghetti strap and it was required for them to cover up. Anyway they ended up getting shawls. Well my BM's are wearing halter dress (nothing too revealing). I personally never ran into this situaion while being a bridesmaid. Now it has me wondering do some churches actually do this?

BTW : We are going to call the church to find out I was just curious in the meantime.

TIA

hmmm...I think it depends on the church. Some catholic churchs require modesty. That goes for the bride too

I've 'heard' of this as well but never actually experienced it. And all the BM dresses I've worn were strapless, along with the bride's gown herself and we/they have never had to cover up.

Exactly I never experienced that also. I guess it just depends on the church then.

I have seen this at a Greek Orthodox Church. For my sister's wedding we had to wear shawls and for my cousins as well.

My BMs ordered a shawl as well so we dont have any issues with this

Hope this helps
