Dress Concern/Question

Dress Concern/Question

I'm getting ready to go order my dress from Macy's since I want to take advantage of the trunk show discount but I have a question...

What happens in the far off chance that I lose more weight? (Already lost 60 and trying real hard to get the last off) How will that effect the fittings. For exaple what if my dress is too big - will I have to pay for another size? How does that work?

60 pounds! Congrats! When I ordered mine they said they can take in to make it a few sizes smaller. Making it larger is always more difficult, so they said to err on the side of too large, and they can adjust for weight loss during fittings.

I didn't buy at Macy's but a number of different salons told me that I could place my order and leave the deposit then come back in a few months - (enough time to order the dress comfortably) and get remeasured then they would place the actual order

Can I just tell you that you made me feel a 100 times better! I never thought about buying the dress but holding off on the actual order - that would be better!

since you have more than a year you could say can I buy it now but can you place the order say 1 year out? or find out when you need to order the dress by - you could probably wait until Nov IF your designer is not one that takes forever

Wow- first congrats on the 60 pounds-
Second- I know they can take it in a few sizes- and if you do need a smaller size you have time for them to get it.

Good luck

WOW, congrats on losing 60lbs. that's great!!! - How did you do that? I want to lose like 10lbs., but I'm stuck.

I have heard if you order a size 18 or larger there's an extra charge. But if they have to take it in, wouldn't that fall under the alteration fees? But if there's a lot of alterations, maybe there's an extra charge - I'm not too sure.

Why how much more do you want to lose?

Thanks everyone!

I've been doing Atkins for a while and lost the 60 that way. I wasn't following it the right way though but managed to keep all the weight off. I think if I had done it properly it might have all come off. So now I'm trying to do it the right way - I want to take off another 50. I can't believe I let it get like this.

I'm definitely going to talk to the person who helps me at my appointment about buying the dress now but holding off on actually ordering for a while. I want to take advantage of the trunk show discount now - that's why the rush - but I'd hate to end up spending more if the weight changed. Thanks for all the help! Not knowing how to approach this would have driven me crazy until the appointment.
