For mine was 500 to order** Sorry read it wrong, For them to place the order was 500 then if I wanted the dress I had to pay it full because im doing alterations from another bridal store....

it's usually half of the price of the dress.

I had to pay $1000 before they would order the dress, veil and tiara it was a little more than half of the total.

this is great to know! i had assumed i would have to pay for it in full when i ordered.
The bridal store would not order the dress until I had 60% of the total price paid. So i left a deposit the first time so I could get the trunk show discount then went back a month later to leave the remaining balance to complete the 60%.
