Ok girls I am running out of time & options so my FI told me to 'turn to the experts - go ask those LIW people' So...
I have tried on more dresses than I can count...I really loved the way Maggie - Dion (Pic #1) fit but I the beadwork wasn't my style. I saw Jeraldine (Pic #2) from the Spring 2005 line and LOVED it. As far as I was concerned that was THE dress - same style just different accents.
Problem - I've called every store that carries Maggie’s in NYC, LI, Westchester, Northern NJ, (this is seriously no exaggeration), Western PA, and even parts of DE & MD - Paradise Bridals is the only store that has the dress in a sample and it was tagged a size 12 but turned out to really be size 6 (which I'm not )
Do I just order it without ever having tried the actual gown on? I keep thinking I'll be second guessing myself or it won't fit the same as the other dress...Help!
They look very similar. I would think that the fit would be similar as well, but I dont know if I could order a dress that I have not tried on. Sorry, I am not much help.

I absolutely fell in LOVE w Dion but like you, wasnt in love w the beading. The dresses look very similar and I love that second one. That's a tough one to get dress w/o trying it on.....not sure what I would do. Can you get into the 6 at all? Just to tryto get the effect???/
If you know for a fact that it is THE ONE... then order it. You can always have it altered to fit you.

I tried and it just would work...they said the seamstress sews the bottom three rows of the corset together so they don't 'loose the ribbon' First place I've ever seen do that!

The ladies at Bridal Reflection showed me a trick without me having to try on all the dresses. Two consultants simply held the dress up so I could see what it would look like on me. Maybe try this with the size 6 dress.
Both look identical in style and the beading seems to be the only difference. Once you see the dress in person, if you still love it (style & beading) I'd order it.
ETA - do you have time to get the dress? I was told to order a Maggie in February for an October wedding date.

Great idea - thanks! Yup Bridal Reflections & Burtons both said I have till April 1st to place the order without worrying about late fees...I better get movin!

Both dresses are wonderful. Have you contacted the Maggie web site. They may be able to tell you where you may find the dress. Good Luck.

They both are very pretty they look the same to. you have to try on the dress but they do your fitting of after you take it off and they go by the dress company and look at the size chart and they order it.

Yeah - don't wait too long. I ordered my Maggie back in February and it just came in last week!
I am pretty sure Lydia's in Copiague has that dress. They are on Great Neck Road in Copiague. I allso think Bayshore Bridal Suite has it too. I am also a Maggie Bride. I got the Crystal (cutting the straps off), but have no idea how to post a picture. Check them both out. GOOD LUCK

I wouldn't wait either on a Maggie...I Finally ordered mine in early February...I think your dresses look similar enough to try the other one on and have an idea, I bought the Karen and I absolutely loved the Natasha and I think they looked similar as well! To be honest I wouldn't try Adriannes in Islip, I went there and their service sucked...not Accommodating at all, I received the best treatment at Paradise bridal in Patchogue...I would stick with them, just my opinion though, Good Luck!!

That's a tough one because truthfully I wouldn't get it if I didn't try it on first BUT since it's the only one that you can find maybe you can have it resized for yourself?

Honestly, I see some pretty important differences in the cut of the dress.
In the new one, the top seems to have a bit of a scalloped edge to it and the waist is WAY higher than on the Dion. I would keep searching or suck your breath as hard as you can to get into the 6 and see if you like it.

Thanks girls SOO much! There is one store on Long Island that is pretty sure they ordered a size 12 sample and if they did it will be in on Tuesday... keep your fingers crossed
