Dress Dilema...Need a steamstress

Dress Dilema...Need a steamstress

Nothing about this wedding planning has been going smoothly so I don't know why my dress should be any different. Went and picked up the dress this weekend and tried it on. It's huge. I'm not talking a little big I'm talking a lot big on the top. It's a maggie sottero corset back. I have a large chest and so this area is my BIGGEST measurement. I specifically ordered a maggie sottero corset back so I would need no alterations on the top. Well needless to say the woman must have measured me wrong because I just got measured at another bridal salon and they would have ordered that dress at least two sizes smaller. I haven't lost weight since I ordered the dress so I dont know why they did this. Even with the corset tied the tightest it will go (no laces showing at all) the front of the dress gapes out about three inches. I don't know if it's ever going to lay flat even though the bridal salon insists that it will (although I will have to go there when the seamstress is there)...the one that told me this is the one who sized me to begin with so I don't know if she was trying to CYA.

I feel like I should take the dress to a seamstress and get her opinion before trying to alter it. I don't know if I should attempt to sell the dress on ebay and find a dress somewhere else. I only have little more than three months before the wedding so I'm in a huge bind.

Can anyone reccomend a seamstress who specializes in wedding gowns in the pt jeff area? I'm stressing out and don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!

No they have not offered especially since they insist that they ordered the dress according to what they measured and that if I had wanted a different size after they measured I should have insisted. I didn't feel comfortable with ordering the larger sized dress to begin with but they baisic said I don't want it to come in and be too small. But of course they also make you sign something that states that ultimately it is the customer who makes the final decision. So on the one hand they tell you want size you should order (they're the professionals right?!?) and then when you argue they still insist that they're right so you concede and then make you sign the waiver saying that the sizing is all up to the customer just so they can cover their buts. I hate the whole wedding business
