Dress dilemma

Well the good news is I found my dream wedding dress! The bad news is that it is way over my budget! I do not know what to do! It was the dress I have had my eye on right away, and the one I totally fell in love with when I tried it on! I know I should continue shopping but I can't stop thinking about this dress! We can't afford to go overboard anymore, we already overextended ourselves just for the reception! Did anyone else have a similar dilemma? How did you deal? Thanks for letting me vent!

Re: Dress dilemma

Can someone help you out at all? Maybe a family member could give you $$ towards it instead of a gift at the wedding.
Did you check out other places that carry the dress maybe they have it for a little less money.
I would love to see it do you have a pic?

Re: Dress dilemma

Maybe if you keep looking you can find something very similar or even a knock off from that designer. Don't give up hope, keep looking!!

I would also love to see a pic if possible. Maybe one of the ladies on the boards has seen your dress somewhere for cheaper. Ya never know!!

Re: Dress dilemma

Is it possible for you to purchase a sample of your dress on a sample sale day? It will be much cheaper then!

Re: Dress dilemma

I've banned my FH from this forum for fear that he might stumble upon a pic of my dress! (Mine was a trunk show sample. I got it for half price - buying it for full price did not fit in my budget!)

Priscilla of Boston dresses are so beautiful!! Can you maybe tell us the name or number of the dress, so all of us curious ladies can check it out on her website? (Or would your FH check it out too?!)

Re: Dress dilemma

Yep!!!

I am in LOVE with an Eve of Milady dress...it's about $1500.00 over my budget!! Even if it wasn't over my budget...I can't bring myself to spend THAT much money on a dress JMO.

I have been searching for something similiar to it..and I've come close...I just need to go and see the dresses in person.

It you bring a pic. of your dress to the stores with you they may have something cheaper but similar.

Re: Dress dilemma

Are you a sample size? Try Bride Power They sell samples of high end dresses, although they only have a few priscillas and they don't look like they're from her recent seasons. Also check Ebay.
How far over your budget is it? Could you maybe order it during a trunk show to save some money? Also, post a pic, if even for a minute. Maybe someone has seen something similar somewhere for less $$. I don't think priscilla sells her dresses anywhere but her own boutiques (I could be wrong), and if that's the case, it's going to be near impossible to get one at a discount.
