Ok, girls, tell me if this has happened to you...I went to one bridal store about a month ago and tried on two dresses that I liked but were way out of my budget, and it was the first time around, so I went elsewhere. Then, I went to another place, found a more reasonable dress more my style that mom and I liked a lot. Now, I tried all of them on again recently and now I hate the two expensive ones (whew..) and the other one is still in my mind, but I did not have a drop down and cry moment. It is the look I like..lace, sash, and I'll have a lace bolero made for it (I love the look) but is it normal not to have the cry moment, have a bit of doubt, but not imagine any other looks?

I am in the same boat baby! I have been looking since MAY! I have tried on about 130+ dresses, I am not kidding. I don't think that feeling happens to everyone.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
It does...I really like how I look in this one contender and I can picture myself wearing it the day I get married, what my headpiece would be like, etc., but MOH insists you have to get emotional! lol

Don't listen to her, I was just looking last week and talking to the sales girl about it, she said, not everyone does and not to get upset over it. She has seen girls cry and others that just say 'OK, I will get this one'.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
That moment does NOT happen to everyone. I was stuck with three dresses and then finally fot the one that my MOH and mom said I look best in.
You still have time. Don't let people stress you out about that too.
Happy planning!

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
Everyone is different and if you CAN envision yourself wearing that dress on your big day and feel beautiful in it, then that is the important thing. If I were you I would keep looking and if you still love this one, then get it...
I was looking and looking and I was very worried about not getting the feeling. I actually REALLLLY liked 2 dresses that I tried on and my mom was ready to pay for one of them, but I just wanted to be SURE. Well, I went with a TOTALLY different dress which I DID fall in love with, and I had the cry moment (completely unexpected too!). Even if that doesn't happen for you, I say look until you don't feel like you should keep looking - until you know you love the dress.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
Here's an even worse scenario.....I was trying to decide btwn the last 2 dresses...one actually gave me the cry moment when I tried it with the veil...BUT the other one made everyonle ELSE have a cry moment...the 2nd one has a different bustle in the back than most dresses..the 1st one everyone advised me against because it was an off the shoulder and they mentioned that it might be uncomfortable and that the other had a more flattering neckline for me..(i'm big chested) soooo....ultimately I went with the one that made everyone else cry...i love the dress but i still think abouty the 1st one...how crazy is that! I try not to dwell on it...there are so MANY choices that they all look alike after awile....go with what you fell gorgeous in.....bottom line....

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
I hear you..thing is, I do feel very pretty as a bride (prettier than everyday!) so that's about as conceited as I am, but I think this might be it, we'll see..sigh...you're right about all the choices!

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
Yea i did NOT have a cry moment either... that is just not my personality... I mean i really do love my dress and am very excited about it.. but i also was like 'ok i will get this one' I looked for a while and by the end was debating btw 2 of them and then i just made a decision. (i also had the same experience in the beginning where i thought i was going to get one and then totally didn't like them later on)...if you like the dress and feel comfortable.. i'd go for it! No need to cry about it

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
I never had a cry moment. Don't take it to heart.
I narrowed it down to 2 dresses and made a friend try them on so I could see them on someone else. I honestly could have flipped a coin at that point. Just make sure you feel confident in the dress you choose. If you're not, it'll show.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
If it helps. I only tried on a handful of dresses. I never had that euphoric moment with any of them. I just knew my dress was my dress.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
I never had that cry moment either. When I tried on my dress, I got super excited and finally felt like a bride. That was it. No cry moment, no emotional scene.
Dont worry....just because you dont have this 'cry moment' doesnt mean you're picking the wrong dress. Go with your heart and your gut -- if you love the dress and feel like its 'the one', then go with it. Thats what I did and I've never regeretted it since! As a matter of fact, I ended up falling more in love with it at my first fitting.
Good Luck!

Well, that's just it! I feel like a bride in this gown, especially when I wear the veil, etc. and they give you the little bouquet!

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
Crying is over-rated. Neither I or my mother cried...I just put my dress on and I didn't want to take it off...that's how I knew.

Re: Dress Dilemma-kinda long
i don't think you have to cry to find your dress.
i admit i did look in the mirror and say to myself 'okay this is it' but i didn't cry...there was no kleenex brought out or overly emotional moments. i did put my #2 choice on after it again, and then put my actual dress on one more time just to be sure.
if you have the dress and feel it's right for you...then i'ts your dress. you don't need the emotional breakdown for the validation. at least i didn't!
