Dress Donations

Hey Ladies,
I recently cleaned out my closet and donated a ton of clothes to charity, in one of those clothing drop boxes in my neighborhood here in sunny ol' Queens.....
I have a formal BCBG gown that I wore as my sisters MOH 6 years ago that's in near perfect condition and was worn once for 4 hours.

Are there any specific dress donation charities out there? I remember they do a 'prom boutique' at certain churches, I would really love to give this gorgeous gown to a lovely cause.

I prefer somewhere in Nassau to donate, however I'll be in Suffolk county on Saturday (Hauppauge/Smithtown area).

Thanks!

I've donated my BM dresses to Brides Against Breast Cancer. You have to ship it to them, but I think its a great way to get rid of old formal dresses. And its a tax write off. Their website is Brides Against Breast Cancer

THere are a few charities that set up 'shops' for underprivliged girls to come pick out their prom dresses and accessories. I think one of them is call the Fairy Godmother Foundation...it might not be out here in NY but I bet googling it would find a local one as well. That would be a really great thing to do for a girl!
