How soon before your wedding did you schedule your first dress fitting? And can anyone recommend a good place to get alterations? I bought my dress through RK Bridal, but did their no frills cause we were initially going to get married down here in DC. But now that we're getting married on LI I want to have it altered up there so I don't have to worry about getting it up to NY after it's been altered and pressed. Help! TIA!

I haven't used her personally, but alot of brides on here RAVE about Phyllis at Bridal Elegance in Dix HIlls. You can do a search for her on here.

i agree! i'm in the process of fittings with phyllis and she's great! schedule it about 2 mos. or so before the wedding!

My dress shop told me that my dress is do in Feb...I think that mid Feb would be my first fitting! If you live in Nassau, right in Franklin Square on Hempstead Tpke, there is a place called MODA. It is across the street from Silver Star Diner....She does a great job!
