Dress fitting questions

The first pic is when I tried on the sample size of my dress, they weren't able to close it but they clamped me in.
Notice how fitted the dress is on my waist.

The second pic is of me in my actual dress. Notice how it is very unfitted. Will they be able to alter so that it looks more fitted around the waist like the sample size?! I hope so.
