Re: Dress fittings
It depends if you need a lot of alterations done, then have your first fitting 6-8 weeks prior. If you don't require many alterations (bustle and hemming), 2-4 weeks should be fine. You should be okay to have your first fitting in mid-February.
I'm having my first fitting 11/5. Second fitting 11/19. If necessary final fitting 12/3. My goal is to lose another 17 pounds before my first fitting. After that I just have to maintain otherwise, it will drive my seamstress nuts. I've already exchanged my dress once, so I can't deal with any drastic alterations. The original dress would have had to come in 2 dress sizes. Can we say major headache and $$$?

Re: Dress fittings
My first fitting was mid-August (2 months before my wedding) and my second one is tonight I think January might be a little early, but if you think your weight will stay the same, it's not relly a big deal.

Re: Dress fittings
My first fitting was last week (3 weeks before the wedding) lol. I knew the only thing I needed was a bustle. I wouldn't recommend waiting as long as I did. I just know that the seamstress is super fast and only had to make a bustle.
